“We have an incredible new line of women’s gear that was designed by, and for, female anglers,” said Diane Bristol, director of Marketing and Brand Management for Simms. “For several years we’ve offered waders and other items specifically for women. Now we are able to bring technical sportswear to the fishing market and women anglers no longer have to settle with products made for men. And it’s some of the most technical fishing gear available.”
Bristol said Simms’ new Women’s Cocona® Henley ($59.95), with the ultimate in evaporative cooling, odor management and UV protection is one example of that. So, too, is the Women’s Flyaway Shirt ($79.95) made with No Fly Zone™ insect-repellent technology. And the pinnacle in fishing technology can be found in the Women’s Guide Jacket ($299.95), a four-season waterproof jacket with three layers of GORE-Tex® soft shell fabric and all the pockets and built-in retractors serious anglers need.
The showcase piece in the women’s line are the Women’s Headwaters™ GORE-TEX® stockingfoot waders, available in 13 sizes and featuring a women’s specific cut. Made in the Bozeman, Mont., headquarters of Simms, most sizes of the award-winning waders retail for $299.95. Made to accompany the stockingfoot waders are the Women’s Headwaters™ boots with Simms’ StreamTread® Vibram™ soles in women sizes 5-12.
“From insect repelling shirts, to sun protection crew necks to the best breathable waders in the industry, every product in the women’s line puts a premium on performance,” said Bristol. “We know it’s important to look good, too, and the women’s gear is designed for that. It’s not just men’s clothing in smaller sizes. The colors and the design are all made for women.”
