For 2010, Simms introduces insect-repelling sportswear that's as functional as it is fishable.
Available for spring, is a select new line of sportswear featuring No Fly Zone™ – a new insect-repellent technology from Burlington® Labs.
No Fly Zone™ is an odorless, water-based and biodegradable permethrin-based insect repellent. Offering excellent protection from a wide variety of crawling and flying insects, the technology will be featured in two Simms technical fishing shirts, a pair of zip-off pants and several hats.
The long-sleeve shirts will be the Fly Away Solid (three colors) and the Bug Blocker Plaid (three colors, blue shown above), each retailing for $89.95. Like all of Simms’ technical fishing shirts, the shirts have features designed by and for anglers.
Fly Away and Bug Blocker shirts also feature COR3® technology, giving the lightweight shirts maximum sun protection (UPF 50), moisture-management and anti-odor performance unparalleled by any other fishing shirt on the market.
Simms' Fly Away Zip-off pants ($89.95) add another layer of insect protection to the mix. The fast-drying nylon pants that easily convert to shorts are available in two colors and feature adjustable fit at the ankles when the biting bugs are particularly bloodthirsty.
No Fly Zone™ will be featured in three hats: the NFZ Sombrero ($39.95), the NFZ Sunshield Hat ($39.95) and the NFZ Cap ($29.95). The final addition in Simms’ bug-fighting arsenal will be the No Fly Zone™ Insect Repellent Spray. A sweat proof, DEET-free product derived from all-natural herbs and plant extracts, the 2-ounce spray bottle will sell for $7.95.
